Bonnie Lee Erickson

June 4, 1941 — June 9, 2020

Bonnie Lee Erickson, 79, of Robinson, IL, died on June 9, 2020, in the comfort of her home. She was born June 4, 1941, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Robert Vrastil & Cornelia "Connie" (Williams) Rotkis, both of whom preceded her in death. She married John Erickson on January 29, 1965, and they were married for 42 years before he preceded her in death on February 17, 2007. She is survived by her children, John Jr. & Char Erickson, Cheryl & Bill Karlicek, Johnny & Gail Erickson, Sheri & Mike Barrow, Trina & Steve Horozinski, Eric & Sherry Erickson, and Dawn & Joe Caldwell; by 19 beloved grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; by her siblings & their spouses, Robert & Diane Vrastil, John McEnaney, Michele McCauley, Edward Rotkis, and Joe Rotkis. She grew up in Chicago and worked for Pepperidge Farm in Downers Grove, where she made many friends before retiring and moving to Robinson. Anyone who knew her could attest to the fact that, to Bonnie, family was life. Everything revolved around spending time with them, especially at the dinner table. Every week was like Thanksgiving, as family and friends would gather around her table to enjoy one of her famous "seven-course" meals, spending quality time together in the process. Even if you weren't officially a member of her "family", she treated you like you were one of her own. The love and care she poured out to everyone who had the good fortune of knowing her will live on in their hearts for years to come. A private graveside service will be held at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of cremation arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. You can donate by going to https://donate3.cancer.org .
