Blake Parker

Blake Parker, 31, of Robinson, IL, died at 4:34 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in rural Lawrence County, IL following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born January 19, 1985 in Richmond, KY, the son of Randy J. Parker & Julie (Riker) Parker. Blake was a 2003 graduate of Robinson High School and went on to attend Vincennes University, studying CIM Industrial Maintenance. He was hired on at Duke Energy on August 11, 2014 as an electrician, and was a member of the Indianapolis IBEW Local #1393. Away from work, Blake was always making memories with great friends. He was a longtime Chicago Cubs baseball fan and also enjoyed ghost hunting locally. He will long be remembered as someone who would stop at nothing to make others laugh. Friends and family alike have lost a special soul in Blake Parker. He is survived by his father & step-mother, Randy & Dana Parker (Bixby, OK); by his mother, Julie Parker (Flat Rock, IL); by his brother & sister-in-law, Jameson & Beth Parker (Moline, IL); by his twin brother, Branden Parker (Robinson, IL); by his sister & brother-in-law, Casey Parker & Brett Schrey (Carbondale, IL); by his nephew, Jude Parker; and by his maternal grandfather, Max Riker. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul & Camilla Parker and by his maternal grandmother, Rita Riker. A time of visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A celebration of Blake’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17th at the funeral home, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. Friends and family will have an opportunity to share memories as part of the service. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
