Bill Watson

Bill Watson, 66, of Palestine, IL, died at 3:00 a.m. (E.S.T.) Friday, June 26, 2009 at the IU Medical Center, Indianapolis, IN. He was born February 14, 1943 in Robinson, IL, the son of Roger L. Watson and Bertha Hazel McCormick Watson. Bill was a farmer. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Crawford County Farm Bureau, Boer Goat Association, the Palestine Masonic Lodge #849 and Oak Grove Federated Church.Bill married Susan Darlene Stoner on April 22, 1962 and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Gene Watson, Jack Watson, and Roger “Toot” Watson.He is survived by his 4 children, Mia Watson, Molly Watson, Michael Watson, and Summer Mendenhall, all of Palestine; his sister, Louise Callaway, Robinson; his brother, Jim Watson, Oblong; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Brother Steve Batman officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 29th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Michael Watson Education Fund.
