Beulah E. Smith

Beulah E. Smith, 92, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Robinson, Il, entered Heaven Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Mckendree Village Health Care, Nashville, TN where she had resided the last 6 months. She was born January 12, 1918 in central Illinois, the daughter of Hollie and Lena Gebert Shook. She and her family moved to Robinson, IL in 1959. She retired from Crawford Memorial Hospital in 1987 after working for 25 years as a Nurse€™s Aid. She moved to Nashville in 1995 to be with her children. Her retirement years included gardening, reading, and supporting the Nashville Predators NHL team. Beulah married Clarence M. €œRed€ Smith, Jr. on October 5, 1940 and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sharon Jean Smith; her son, Gary M. Smith; her brothers, William (Florence), Ralph (Dorothy), Gail (Helen and Hilda) Raymond, Earl, and Robert Shook; her sisters, Mabel (Joe) Fyke and Myrtle Shook.Cherishing her memory are her son, Randy Smith and her daughter, Janet Wright, both of Nashville, TN; her grandson, Jason Smith, Madison, WI; her sister, Lillian Greenlee, Lawrenceville; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Cody, Cher, and Zig.The family would like to thank the staff of Mckendree Village for their loving care.A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Leslie White officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday preceding the services at the funeral home.
