Betty L. Twigg, 80, of Robinson, IL, died at 4:56 p.m. (E.S.T.) Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born November 8, 1929 in Jasper County, IL, the daughter of Arnold Kibler and Leona Schmitt Kibler. Betty graduated from Decatur High School in 1947. She was an insurance clerk at Schmidt Clinic for over 10 years, worked at the Robinson Transformer and TRW. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church and the Robinson American Legion Post #69 Auxiliary.Betty married Francis Twigg on August 15, 1948 and he survives. She is also survived by 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Wayne Johnson, Robinson, Kathy Boyd, Robinson, Dana and Doug Sprague, Robinson, Diane and Les Shaffer, Robinson; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and John Lyons, Palm Bay, Fl, Kyle Johnson and special friend, Bobie Jo Lee, Palm Bay, FL, Kelly and Aaron Richart, Carterville, Karrie Boyd, Indianapolis, IN, Laycie Sprague, Oak Park, IL, Dustin Sprague, Palm Bay, FL, Jeff and Sara Shaffer, Robinson, Jason Shaffer and special friend, Lisa Duncan, Mattoon, Christian Shaffer and special friend, Cortney Graham, Robinson; 9 great grandchildren, McKenna Lyons, Palm Bay, FL, Mattingly Richart, Carterville, Kade Shaffer, Robinson, Mara Shaffer, Robinson, Mya Shaffer, Mattoon, Garrett Hayes, Robinson, Colton Hayes, Robinson, Keller Hayes, Robinson, Nalani Lee, Palm Bay, FL; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Rita Pryor, Robinson.Betty loved to hunt, fish, and travel with her husband. She loved being with her family and her best friend, her husband “Twigg”. She and Twigg traveled to Alaska, Europe, Canada, and Asia, and she especially loved Hawaii. She loved country living, watching the wildlife, and taking care of her dogs. Her most favorite times were those spent at the many family get-togethers we had, especially seeing and playing with her grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 14th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Crawford Memorial Hospital Foundation Diabetes Program with envelopes available at the funeral home.
