Betsy Jo Mccammon

Betsy Jo McCammon, 59 of Robinson, IL, died at 4:58 a.m. Sunday, November 9, 2008 at her family’s farm, rural Robinson after an extended illness. She was born June 18, 1949 in Olney, IL the daughter of William G. Webber and Jean Haynie Webber.She attended Eastern Illinois University where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Education and a Masters in Education. She began her teaching career in Flat Rock as a kindergarten teacher, and completed her teaching career of 33 years at Washington Grade School in Robinson, teaching 1st grade. She was a member of the United Brethren Church; a former member of Job’s Daughters in Robinson; and a member of the C. U. T. E. A. (teacher’s association). She was also active as a team leader in the Relay for Life, loved bingo and sports. She married Larry R. McCammon on November 11, 1972 and he survives. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Jo and William Joseph Weger, Oblong; her son, Christopher Michael 'Mike' McCammon, Savoy; 2 grandchildren, Jarod William Weger and Breanna Jo Weger, both of Oblong; and her mother, Jean Webber, rural Robinson. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and John C. 'Jack' Brady, Inverness, FL; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen Ray and Tina Webber, Orlando, FL, and William Gary and Myrna Webber, Tolono; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 2004.Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor Shane Bopp in charge of services. Burial is in the New Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lincolnland Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
