Bessie Jane Preston

Bessie Jane Preston, 83, of Palestine, died at 12:35 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home. She was born on February 9, 1928 in Lawrence County, the daughter of Freeland Pinkstaff and Bessie Waters Pinkstaff. She was a loving mother and housewife.She married Clyde Preston on August 18, 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, C. Russell Preston, Jr. (Robinson) and Juanita Sue Preston (Palestine); her grandchildren and their spouses, Amber & Kevin Wampler (Robinson), Crystal Preston & Stanley Mason (Robinson); her great-grandchildren, Grant Wampler and Ameila Mason; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry & Justine Pinkstaff (West Salem); her sister, Mary Alberta Fischer & Jeff Blagrave (Lawrenceville); as well as several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, with Brother Jack Cunningham officiating. There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Jones Cemetery in Flat Rock, IL.
