Barbara Elaine Galey, 83, of Hutsonville, IL, died on September 1, 2020, at the comfort of her home. She was born on June 3, 1937, in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Herbert & Osa (Henderson) Morris, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Dakota Galey; by her sisters, Aileen Napp and Donna Lee Miles, and by her brother, Robert Morris. She married John Galey on June 6, 1969, and he survives. She is also survived by her children & spouses, Tory Galey (Hutsonville, IL), Keith & Billie Messer (Oklahoma City, OK), Adam & Denise Galey (Robinson, IL), Erick Galey (Grand Junction, CO) and Debbie Tolle (Hutsonville, IL); by grandchildren, Luke Tolle, Christy Maynard, Tyler & Amanda Galey, Jessica Galey, Nikki & Joey Glosser, Jamie Montya, Justin Galey, Shaunna Herrick, Nikki Cox, Nathanael Cox, and Samuel Cox; by 20 great-grandchildren; by her brother, Rex Mitchell (Palestine, IL); by her sister, June Doolittle (Littleton, CO); by her sister-in-law, Rose Galey (Casey, IL) and Tham Morris (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Barb grew up in Robinson before graduating from Robinson High School. She would go on to work for Briggs Pottery before finding employment at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Robinson. On the side, she was a longtime independent sales representative for Avon, and this was work she truly enjoyed doing. In fact, she found joy in the little things in life. Time at home often found her piecing together various crafts, and this brought her a great sense of fulfillment over her 83 years. She was also known for her green thumb, and spent countless hours landscaping around the house, often picking flowers out of her garden to bring a feeling of added warmth to her home. Shopping was another beloved pastime for Barb, and one often shared alongside her beloved family, who will remember her as the matriarch of their family. She was their champion and warrior; an ever-ready source of strength and support in good times and bad. It was evident that her heart was for others, and this can be traced back to her walk with Jesus. Though Barb was a member of the Hutsonville First Baptist Church, her faith wasn't held to Sunday mornings. It was, instead, put on display day-in and day-out in the love she gave to others. We are thankful for her life, a life that, by the grace of God, knows no end.
