Barbara “Barb” Lachenmayr, 64, of Robinson, IL, died at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Arbor Rose of Robinson. She was born April 25, 1954 in Robinson, the daughter of Edgar “Junior” Osborn & Juanita (Snearley) Osborn, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Chesser and Patricia Osborn; by her father-in-law, Earl Lachenmayr; by her mothers-in-law, Barbara Lachenmayr and Celesta Lachenmayr; and by her brother-in-law, Keith Mitchell. She married Steven Lachenmayr on March 23, 1973, and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Denise & Brant Hoalt (Robinson, IL) and Dewayne Lachenmayr (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren & their spouses, Emilee & Garrett Rich, Sara & Steven Langley, Sawyer Hoalt; by her great-grandson, Wyatt Rich; by her sisters & brothers-in-law, Margie & Sam Maesch (Staunton, IN) and Cheryl & Leslie Lake (Robinson, IL); by her in-laws, Mary & John Guyer (Robinson, IL), Dave & Belle Lachenmayr (Robinson, IL), Don & Barbie Lachenmayr (Robinson, IL), and Janie Thackrey (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Barb was born and raised in Robinson and was a 1972 graduate of Robinson High School. She was a fantastic cook, and this passion was something she pursued throughout her life. She worked in the kitchen for a number of local schools before getting on as a cook at Hershey, where she retired in 2012. Outside of work, she was never one to let dust settle. Barb was, by all accounts, a woman of action. She “lived her love”, so to speak, and this was how she showed her undying affection to her friends and family. They meant everything to her, and they could never forget her fierce loyalty, nor the strength she displayed up until the very end. She was a longtime member of Highland Church of Christ. A time of visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A memorial service will follow and will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Rich Swisher officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the “Arbor Rose Activity Fund”, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
