Annetta Spears, 75, of Humansville, MO, formerly of Robinson, IL, passed away on November 29, 2020. She was born July 2, 1945, the youngest of three daughters born to Hubert I. Stantz & Oma L. Taylor (Stantz). Ann grew up in the Robinson farming community with her sisters, Cozette and Barbra, and her best friend, Connie Carter (Quick). In her youth, she attended Prairie United Methodist Church, where she was baptized in 1953. She eventually met and married Billy Spears, with whom she would spend the next 46 years until his passing in 2009. During this time, they worked together to raise five children, Vicky, Debbie, Billy Jr., Nancy, and Thomas. Ann had many talents. She loved being around family and friends. They were all the beneficiaries of her excellent cooking, as she ensured all who came to her table were well-fed and cared for. She also canned fresh vegetables, both for show and to eat. Much of her free time found Ann crocheting and painting ceramics that are now treasured by her many loved ones. In fact, she was a friend to all she met. One of Ann's most prized achievements came later in life when she became a licensed cosmetologist and opened her own business. Later, having moved to Tennessee, she continued to work as a cosmetologist at Opryland USA, where she was a sought-after stylist to those who performed there. The family later moved back to Robinson, where she spent most of her time with her family and friends. In failing health, Ann moved to Humansville, MO, to live with her daughter, Nancy, until her passing. Ann was a loving and trusting soul and a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be missed and forever in the hearts of those who knew her. Left behind to mourn her passing are five children, Vicky Bonelli, Debra Norman, Billy Spears Jr., Nancy Poindexter, and Thomas Spears; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Cozette Stockdale; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Oma; her husband, Billy W. Spears, Sr.; her sister, Barbra Stephens; and her grandson, Brian Wix. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will immediately follow and will be held at the Prairie Cemetery.
