Anna M. Shaner

Anna M. Shaner, 81, of Palestine, IL, died at 1:10 p.m. (E.S.T.) Monday, January 28, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born October 1, 1926 in Jasper County, IL, the daughter of William Galloway and Oma Musgrove Galloway. She was co-owner and secretary of J D Mullen Co, Palestine, IL. She was a member of the Pleasant View Church, Palestine, the Lincoln Trail Campers Club, and the James Halstead Chapter of the D. A. R.She married Roy D. Shaner May 16, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lowell Galloway; and her sister, Mabel Rude. She is survived by her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Cindy Shaner, Georgetown, TX, Jeff Shaner, Palestine, Mark and Resa Shaner, Robinson; her daughter, Holly Shaner, Palestine; 9 grandchildren, Nick Shaner, Cole Shaner, Bradley Shaner, Kimbra Shaner, Jonathan Shaner, Emily Shaner, Leslie Shaner, Hannah Shaner and Lance Cooper and his wife, Krystal; and her sister, Eileen Welch, Ingraham.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Pleasant View Church, rural Palestine, IL, with Rev. Tom Akers andRev. Paul Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, January 31st at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until service time at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Pleasant View Church. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant View Church, the Palestine Academic Foundation; or to the Palestine Grant-In-Aid Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
