Anita Turner, 57, of Palestine, IL, passed away peacefully in the presence of her beloved family on Saturday, April 24, 2021. She was born February 8, 1964, in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Robert Cafin & Juanita (Harris) Lingafelter. She grew up in the Palestine area and would go on to work in many fields as a caretaker, which suited her others-centered nature. Most recently, she found employment at Hershey, where her generosity was recognized and appreciated by her co-workers and friends. That same selfless kindness showed through into her personal life, as she invested nearly all of her energies into her family. She would check in with her kids constantly, and few things brought her more joy than having her grandkids over for a campout at grandma's! There, they would find her treasured collection of blankets and candles, as well as a McDonald's sweet tea (or two) in the fridge. Those she leaves behind could attest to her love of Bingo and Bingo-themed scratch-offs. Anita also played the lottery, hoping to "win it big" so that her family would never have to work again. Though she could be set in her ways, she always played the roles of advocate and champion to those she loved most in this world. The love she so freely gave will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, stirring within them and serving as this dear woman's legacy for years to come. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Dustin & Mandy Turner, Stephen & Shasta Turner, and Cody Turner; by her grandchildren, Draden, Ryan, Naevia, and Mila; by her mother, Juanita Lingafelter; by her siblings, Melinda Xanders, Sheila Cafin, Daniel Cafin, Robert Cafin, and Cindy Bodo; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert "Bob" Cafin, and by her step-father, Daniel "Danny" Lingafelter. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A memorial service will immediately follow and will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Dwight McDaniel officiating. *Please note that COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. Thusly, masks and social distancing will be required on-premises.*
