Longtime Robinson, Illinois resident and prominent business leader, 69-year-old, Allan Douglas Heath, passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona April 19. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Heath was the Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of L. S. Heath and Sons (Heath Candy Company). As was the practice of the Heath family, he learned the business from the ground up, initiating his 30 year career in the maintenance yard. Mr. Heath was a former representative of the Robinson Chamber of Commerce, serving as the organization’s President for a year. He was also a board member and Treasurer of the Lincoln Trail College Foundation. A regular churchgoer, he was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Robinson, where he served on several committees. Other memberships included Kiwanis Club (Past President), Elks Club, Quail Creek Country Club, Union League Club of Chicago and Eastern Illinois University Panther Club (athletic foundation). Mr. Heath was a kind and modest man. Never married, he resided for nearly his entire life in the same home in Robinson in which he was raised. Socially, he enjoyed dining out, bowling and Eastern Illinois University athletics. A veteran, he was stationed in Germany for two years, where he served as a Private First Class within the US Army Supply Division. Mr. Heath is survived by his sister-in-law, Sheila Owens Heath, his nephews Lawrence Allan Heath and David Owens Heath, his nieces Kerry Heath Moore and April Heath Legg, all residents of Arizona. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Ruth and Douglas Bartley of Texas.Visitation will be at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinsonon Friday, April 25 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Max Borah officiating, on Saturday, April 26, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Internment will follow at the Robinson New Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by the Lincoln Trail College Foundation or the Heath Museum and Confectionary, % Crawford County Heritage Foundation, 109 S.
