Alice "Polly" Shaw

Alice ‘Polly’ Shaw, 84, of Sullivan, passed away 11:46 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at The Crossings at Victory Station, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Mrs. Shaw was born November 1, 1934 in Palestine, Illinois, the daughter of Bryl Cammie and Dorothy Christine Nigh Fulling. Polly along with her husband Glen Fair owned and operated Barnes Floor Covering, then later The Shoe Fair, both in Sullivan. She then worked in the office and retired from Fields Wright Medical Center in Sullivan. Polly was a member of the Sullivan First United Methodist Church. Polly was active in the Sullivan community, which she loved. She belonged to a card and domino club and was an avid golfer. Some of her favorite hobbies were making macrame lawn chairs, refinishing antiques, and collecting head vases. She loved the outdoors and would often be spotted walking around Wyman park. Polly married Glen Dale Fair on October 5, 1956 in Charleston, Illinois and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1988. She then married W. Keith Shaw on December 31, 1990 and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2010. Survivors include her daughters Debra (Jerry) Butts of Murfreesboro, TN and Bonnie (Mack) Hall of Knoxville, TN; brothers Max (Joan) Fulling and George (Linda) Fulling, both of Palestine, IL and Robert (Karen) Fulling of Rantoul, IL; stepdaughters Kathy (Thom) Risley and Marcia (Pat) Thompson, both of Sullivan and Stephanie (Lee) Campbell of Windsor; grandchildren Steven Evans, Jericho Fair, Christopher Hall and Heather Krantz; eight great grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great grandchildren and one step-great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and brothers John Fulling and Lee Fulling. Celebration of Life services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan with Pastor Charliam Renner officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan.
