Alice Marie Benson

Alice Marie Benson, 79, of Robinson, IL, died at 2:58 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Arbor Rose of Robinson. She was born October 23, 1938 in Sumpter Township (Cumberland County, IL), the daughter of William Leonard Mills & Nellie Grace (Craig) Mills, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Carl Ramon Benson on August 12, 1956, and he survives. She is also survived by her children & their spouses, Kelly & Andy Bradbury (Robinson, IL) and Roger & Sandy Benson (Hidalgo, IL); by her grandchildren & their spouses, Shawn Marie Wood, Dustin & Lori Wood, Corey & Stephanie Benson, and Brad Benson; by her great-grandchildren, Draxton Wood, Wrigley Wood, Ryker Wood, Eli Benson, Tate Benson, and Adley Benson; and by her brother-in-law, Jim Benson. Alice grew up in the Greenup area and was a 1956 graduate of Cumberland High School. She dedicated her life to providing a warm and caring home for her beloved family. Inside, the smell of her irresistible breads and rolls permeated the halls. Outside, evidence of Alice’s green thumb sprouted from her flower beds. Her family could never forget her tender smile that could light up a room, nor the unwavering love and support she gave to each of them through the years. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 11th at the Greenup Cemetery (Greenup, IL), with Pastor Tim Watson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
