Alfred "Big Al" Herrington

Alfred “Big Al” Herrington, 68, of Robinson, IL, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Crawford County Convalescent Center, Robinson. He was born April 14, 1941 in Meridian, MS, the son of Phillip Herrington and Mary Dugate Herrington. He served in the U. S. Air Force. He was a farmhand, bus driver for Greyhound Bus for 10 years, and foreman at Mill Lumber for 10 years.Big Al married Mary Phyllis Anderson July 11, 1960 and she survives. He is also survived by 2 sons and his daughter-in-law, Alfred Herrington, Jr., Palestine, Terry and Traci Herrington, Flat Rock; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Ron Webb, Buchanan, MI, June Lee Bower, Robinson, Mary and John Postlewaite, Washington, IN; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Robert Richard Herrington; and 2 brothers in infancy.Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson with Pastor Dwight McDaniel officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
