Alexander Lee Quinn

Alex Quinn, 67, of Robinson, IL, died at 8:35 p.m. (EST) on Monday, December 9, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born September 3, 1952, in Robinson, IL, the adopted child of Patrick Quinn & Mary Jo (Klump) Quinn-White, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Wyatt Cravens. He married Roberta Sanders on May 3, 1990, and they were happily married for 29 years before his passing. He is also survived by his daughter, Maryann Gibson (Robinson, IL); and by his grandson, Logan Cravens (Robinson, IL); as well as several extended family members and friends. Alex grew up in Robinson and was a 1970 graduate of Robinson High School. He would further his education at both Lincoln Trail College and Ivy Tech, where he earned an Associate of Drafting degree. He went on to work for the Indian Refinery in Lawrenceville before they closed their doors, at which time, he found employment at Connor & Conner, Crawford Memorial Hospital, and Carter Lumber before getting on as an operator at Hershey, where he retired December 1 of this year. Away from work, Alex loved watching old shows and especially war movies and westerns and was especially fond of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood films. Anyone who knew him could attest to his love of sport, especially Chicago Bears football and New York Yankees baseball. He was even able to watch a Yankees game in Yankee Stadium, which was a real highlight of his life. More than anything, he loved being the best provider, father, and grandfather he could be, and will be remembered for the selfless way he poured himself into filling these roles. The love he gave to his family will live on in their hearts and will serve as his legacy for as long as they live. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date. His family requests that donations be made to one of the following organizations: St. Vincent House American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ("ASPCA") Crawford County Humane Society Texas Children's Hospital NICU Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
