Alberta Murdock

Alberta Murdock, 81, of Palestine, died at 10:25 p.m. EST, on May 22, 2011 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born January 28, 1930 in Oblong, the daughter of James and Violet (Dunlap) Harris. She worked for L.S. Heath and Sons and Leaf for 19 years, retiring in 1991. She attended Grace Chapel Church in West Terre Haute, IN.Alberta married Clifford Murdock on November 19, 1949 and he survives. Also surviving are her son, Larry Joe Murdock, Palestine; 4 grandchildren, Brady, Timmy, Eric and Kendra Murdock, all of Palestine; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Wanda Louise Murdock, Palestine and Irene and Bill McCormick, Palestine. She was preceded in death by her parents; her half sister, Rita E. Harris; her half brother, Everette E. Harris.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine, with Pastor John Bigger officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Chapel Church, West Terre Haute or to Palestine Pilgrim Holiness Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
