Alberta Wallace Powell, 87, of Palestine, IL, died September 3, 2010 at 8:05 p.m. (E.S.T.) at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on June 5, 1923, the daughter of Lynnzay Gideon and Sylvia Swietzer Gideon. She was a lifetime member of the Marshall VFW Post 5975 Ladies Auxiliary, a lifetime member of the DAV as well as the Robinson American Legion Post 69 Auxiliary.Survivors include three sons, Lynnzay Wallace, Marshall, Stanley Wallace, Marshall, and Michael Wallace, Palestine; two daughters, Nadine Reinoehl, Palestine, and Melanie and her husband Harold Crampton, Robinson; eight grandchildren, Greg and his wife Lisa Siverly, Douglas Siverly, Todd Siverly, Angel and her husband Brian Goble, Stanley Wallace, Christopher Wallace, Chad and his wife Stephanie Crampton, and Tammy Reynolds; nine great-grandchildren, Daylon Siverly, Kennon Siverly, Leanna Siverly, Breahi Keim, Braydn Budde, Kelsey Crampton, Kody Crampton, Camden Aue, and Tyler Wallace; two sisters, Gail Guthrie, Bloomfield, IN and Hildred Faith, Boonville, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Willard Wallace and Omar Powell; one grandson, Brian Wallace; one great-grandson, Trevor Siverly; and three brothers, Stanley Gideon, Robert Gideon, and Richard Gideon.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, with Pastor Terry Henry conducting the service. Burial will be in the Walnut Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
