Adrain Sunshine (Aders) Larson, 102, of Robinson, IL, died November 3, 2020, in the comfort of her son's home in Robinson. She was born October 6, 1918, in Richland, IN, the daughter of Guy Aders & Mary (Thurber) Aders, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Larson and by her son, Bernard Larson. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Salina & Robert Herrell (Hatfield, IN); by her son & daughter-in-law, Duane & Tammy Larson (Robinson, IL); as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sunshine grew up in the Rockport, IN, where she attended and graduated from school. She worked a number of jobs over a wide spectrum of careers: she was a cook for a mining camp in Oklahoma; a police matron in Wildwood, IL; a psychiatric nurse in Evansville, IN; and was also an art teacher for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. By all accounts, Sunshine was an accomplished artist, and her love of art led her to open Adrain's Art Supply in Wildwood, IL, and she also owned and operated Scotty Gas & Convenience Story in Cecil, WI for a time. Over the course of her 102 years, she had the opportunity to rub shoulders with a number of celebrities, including Florence Henderson, Nelson Rockefeller, Gene Krupa, as well as many designers of the General Motors Corporation, who often brought prototype designs to her art store for feedback. She was an active member of a number of organizations and enjoyed taking part in events put on by the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549 Auxiliary, the Robinson American Legion Post #69 Auxiliary, Crawford County Bowhunters, as well as ABATE of Wisconsin. We are thankful that Sunshine enjoyed a long life, but we are even more thankful that she filled it with real living. She is to be cremated and will be buried in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Rockport, IN at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of local arrangements.
