Virginia Claire "Jenny" Butcher

Virginia Claire “Jenny” Butcher, 87, of Flat Rock, IL, died at 4:02 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born December 5, 1929 in Hutsonville, IL, the daughter of Frank Jared Krise & Thelma Juanita (Hand) Krise, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Harold Butcher on June 25, 1948, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gary Wilson. She is survived by her children & their spouses, Joyce & Bob Weger (Flat Rock, IL), Charlotta Wilson (Robinson, IL), and Randy & Christie Butcher (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren, Angi & Roger Brush, Mike Weger & Sarah Hamsher, Matthew Wilson, Jessica & Dr. Andy Williams, Joshua & Lesley Butcher, and Elizabeth & Phillip Williams; by her great-grandchildren, Breanna Brush, Sydney Brush, Jaden Butcher, Ainsley Butcher, and Lucy Butcher; by her brother, Charles Krise (Flat Rock, IL); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jenny grew up in Hutsonville and was a graduate of Hutsonville High School. She dedicated much of her early life to her home and her family. She also drove a school bus for Unit #2 for 23 years. When she wasn’t busy working, she loved quilting, sewing, and was an exceptional cook. More than anything, she simply enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her church family at South Union Church, who have lost a lovely, caring soul in Jenny Butcher. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28th at the South Union Church in rural Flat Rock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 29th at the church with Ron Price officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Tohill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the South Union Church, with envelopes available at the church. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock is in charge of arrangements.
