Patricia "Patty" Jo Higgins

Patricia "Patty" Jo Higgins, 60, of Hardinville, IL, went home to be with the Lord at 2:16 p.m. on December 13, 2022, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN.

Born in Robinson, IL, on November 13, 1962, she was the daughter of LaVern & Donna (Milam) Meese. She spent many years working as a life insurance saleswoman for Western & Southern Life and the Columbine. Her hobbies included spending time with her family, camping, and mushroom hunting with friends.

On January 2, 1993, she married Clarence "Ed" Higgins, and they enjoyed nearly thirty years of marriage before her passing. She is also survived by two daughters & sons-in-law, Rachel & Lonnie Utley and Brandy & John Salmon; by her son & daughter-in-law, Cody & Emily Higgins; by three grandchildren, Starla Elliott, Lilliana Inskeep, and Lawson Utley; by her sister, Pamela Merideth; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Donna & LaVern Meese; her brother, Bill Meese; her sister-in-law, Jean Meese; her brother-in-law, Jerry Merideth; and her grandson, Jackson Lee.

A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will immediately follow and be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Josh Bailey officiating. During the service, there will be an opportunity for family and friends to publicly share memories of this dear woman's life. Burial will be in the Shire-Prier Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take place in the form of a contribution in her honor to "Christmas in the Park" for Oblong Park. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home, where donations may also be mailed.
