Mary Jane Liddle

October 30, 1956 — February 11, 2020

Mary Jane (Schutte) Liddle, 63, Evansville, IN, previously of Palestine and Robinson, IL, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Laura E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. Mary Jane was born on October 30, 1956, in Sullivan, IN, the daughter of Charles & Virginia (Meeker) Schutte, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Geoffrey Johnston. On September 30, 2006, Mary Jane married David Liddle, and he survives. She is also survived by her daughter & son-in-law Kendra & Riley Pearce; by her granddaughter, Hadley Pearce; by three step-sons & daughters-in-law, Kevin & Shelli Liddle, Jim & Emmie Liddle, Jason & Sabrina Liddle; by nine step-grandchildren, Zachary, Zion, Deana, Owen, Clint, Susan, Asher, David and Ryatt; by her sister & brother-in-law, Rebecca & Alan Johnston; by her brother & sister-in-law, Jeffrey & Sally Schutte; by her nephew, Austin & wife Kerrie Schutte; by several great-nephews and a great niece, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Mary Jane grew up in Palestine and was a 1974 graduate of PHS. She worked for a number of businesses including Wal-Mart, where she worked for 20 years before her health led her into an early retirement. Much of her free time found her working on various crafts. Even buying craft supplies was a great source of joy in her life. Following her marriage to David, Mary Jane became something of a rabid baseball fan, the Pittsburg Pirates being her ball club of choice. Anyone who had the opportunity to meet her were immediately drawn to her outgoing personality. She never met a stranger and was relational to her core. In short, friendships were the heart of her being. We will remember Mary Jane Liddle as a person who found adventure in the mundane, everyday stuff of life. Each of us would do well to take a page from her book and recognize that life is what you make it. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Evans officiating. In honor of the wonderful care she received over the last days of her life, memorial contributions may be made to the "Linda E. White Hospice House", with memorial envelopes available at the funeral home.
