Martha Zellers, aged 81, of Lawrenceville, IL, died on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in the comfort of her daughter's home. She was born May 16, 1943, in Linton, IN, to Samuel and Margaret LeForge Lynn. She was raised in Indiana until moving to Illinois at the age of 9, where she graduated from Hutsonville High School with the Class of 1961.
She married Gene Zellers on December 29, 1962, and they were married for 58 years until his passing on January 14, 2021. Two children, Bradley and Stacey, were born into this union.
Her family was the most important thing to her, and her grandchildren, especially, were the light of her life. Martha was a 50-year member of West York Bible Church and attended almost every Sunday. She taught at the church for 45 of those 50 years, including nursery, intermediate, teenagers, and finally adults. She loved her church family as if they were her own. She worked outside the home at several places, the last being Bell Brothers for over 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; her grandson, Tyler Zellers; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sybil and Robert Newlin, Ann and Harry Gene Smith, and Janie and Larry Brush; her mother and father-in-law, Roberta and Edgar Zellers; and her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Shirley Zellers.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Janice Zellers; her daughter, Stacey Zellers; her grandchildren, Christina and Mike Arvin, Christopher Zellers, Sophia Zellers, and Erica Zellers; her five great-grandchildren, Brittany Young and Riley Guyer, Brian Arvin and Tori Cheesman, Tiffany Arvin, Cassy Arvin, and Gracelyn Arvin; her two great-great grandchildren, Theodore Arvin and Rosemary Guyer; her sisters and brother-in-law, Faye Stanfield and Kaye and Larry Waggoner; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
