Jo Ann Coulter

Jo Ann Coulter, 78, of Savoy, IL formerly of Robinson, IL, died at 10:02 a.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born August 15, 1940 in Lawrenceville, IL, the daughter of Norman & Lucretia (Cowden) Allen, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Norman “Chet” Coulter on October 13, 1961, and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Allen. She is survived by her son, Mike Coulter (Champaign, IL). Jo Ann grew up in the West Union, IL area and was a graduate of Hutsonville High School. For a time, she worked for L.S. Heath & Sons before becoming a mother. From that point in time, she dedicated her life to providing a home for Chet and Mike. Much of her golden years were spent on the road, as she, Chet, and their dog, Cee Cee traveled all over America for nearly a decade. These were some of the happiest times of her life. Jo Ann will be remembered as a kind and spunky woman who showed resiliency in the midst of hardship. She was a loving mother and compassionate friend and could never be forgotten. As per her request, JoAnn will be cremated with a private family service to follow. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
