Carolyn M. Correll, 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 12:54 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL. She was born on March 7, 1931 in Hardinville, IL, the daughter of Dr. Russell Warters & Ruby (Winters) Warters, both of whom preceded her in death. She married William H. Correll on August 28, 1949 and had twins that were born on December 11, 1954 Jerry W. Correll and Garry Duaine Correll, whom all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Paul Correll; by her brother, Dr. Charles Warters, by her sister, Eulaee Dart; by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Murray Correll; and by her companion, Wendell Beard. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy Correll, Duaine Correll, Suzanne Hambrick, Brandy Selby, and Jamie Breuer; by her great-grandchildren, Katey, Christopher, Shaley, Deacon, Mason, Blake, Brooklyn, Gracie, Cameron, Levi, Gage, Greyson, Shane; by her great-great-granddaughter, Myah; by her daughters-in-law, Cathy McKinney and Karen Esarey; by her best friends of her life’s journey, Susan Bollinger and Gloria Saad; as well as several nieces and nephews. Carolyn worked at Highway Café, Woolworth, IGA, Heath Cosmetologist for 35 years. After retiring from being a hairdresser she returned to work at L.S. Heath & Sons, Leaf, and eventually retiring from Hershey in 1992. Away from work, Carolyn could be found playing Bridge. She also enjoyed traveling, but more than anything, Carolyn loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her life, and they brought so much joy to her life. She attended Bible Chapel Church and Highland Church of Christ. She was involved in the American Legion Post #69 as President of the American Legion Auxiliary. A member of the V.F.W. Post # 4549 Ladies. She was also a member of the Auxiliary Lions for a time, and a past member of the Eastern Star. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12th at the Oblong Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Oblong Children’s Christian Home with envelopes available at the cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
