Betty L. Deckard

Betty L. Deckard, 73 of Oblong, IL, died at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong at 2:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009. She was born November 12, 1935 in Oblong Township, the daughter of Ben Worthey and Dorothy Shelley Worthey. Betty worked at both the Sugar Bowl and the Country Club in Robinson as a waitress. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Robinson.She is survived by her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Butch Hillegass, Canal Fulton, OH, Marsha and Rich Cravens, Robinson; her 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Peggy Deckard, Palestine, Joe and Penny Deckard, Robinson, Glenn Deckard, Palestine, and Kevin Deckard, Robinson; 14 grandchildren, Kristi Hillegass, Joey Hillegass, Marcus Deckard, Kelsey Deckard, Jared Deckard, Jacob Deckard, Jordan Deckard, Staci Lachenmayr, Brad Lachenmayr, Bryan Lachenmayr, Matthew Deckard, Andy Deckard, Gracie Deckard, and Rich Craven, Jr.; her great grandson, Wyatt Deckard; her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Monica Worthey, Louisville, KY; her sister and brother-in-law, June and Earl Mullins, Oblong; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Diana Deckard; her grandson, Nicholas Maddox; and her granddaughter, Brandi Deckard.A Funeral Mass will be conducted by Rev. Bill Overmann at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Wednesday, April 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Memorials may be made to the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, with envelopes at the funeral home.
