Bernice L. (Jones) Sanders, 87, of Hardinville, IL, passed away at 4:03 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, IL, following a stroke in December 2011.Bernice was born July 20, 1924 in Lawrence Co, IL, the daughter of Jesse and Emma Ferguson Jones. She was a member of the Hardinville Christian Church for many years and still very active up until her stroke of December 2011. She helped her husband during the farming season, always had a big garden and canned big time, pieced and quilted many quilts.Bernice married Elmer S. Sanders on December 8, 1946 and he passed away on August 5, 1989.Surviving are two sons, Raymond and his wife, Kay Sanders, Ron Sanders and friend, Pam Stifle; 2 daughters, Vickie Sanders and Barbara Garrard; 7 grandchildren, Patrick and Melissa Sanders, Jeremy and Lisa Sanders, Rhnay Friedrich, Rick and Jennifer Fritch, Paul Garrard, Alisha and Andy Goff, and Leslie Duran; 18 great grandchildren, Ashlei and Casey Mendenhall, Macei and Leslie Ray Friedrich, Alison and Paige Sanders, Dreven, Landon, Addeline, and Cameron Sanders, Josie, Emma and Brie Goff, Lilly and Laine Garrard, Dakota and Dustin Fritch, and Tristen and Daytona Duran; 2 sisters, Lanora Satterfield, and Faye and her husband, Neil Weger; 2 sisters-in-law, Norma Jones and Pauline Sanders.Preceding her death were her parents; 2 brothers, Denzil Jones and Hugh Jones; and her sister, Leota Richart.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Hardinville Christian Church with Pastor Jeffery Brinkman officiating. Burial will be in the Hardinville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29th at the Hardinville Christian Church.
